For a day without a lot of programming, there were many people in the library today. It especially got really busy around lunch time which is when it typically slows down. I wonder if our extreme heat is what is bringing the crowds. The kids were very excited when one of the circulation staff members donned an Octopus costume. As he walked around everyone was taking pictures with him.
There was a high school librarian that is doing an externship in the library and she worked with me at the desk for an hour today. She works for the same school district that I do, so we had a nice chat about how we like the ILS system at the library more than the one the district uses. We were so busy that it was nice to have a helping hand with the patrons.
